So, who would have guessed 2020 would turn out to be so chaotic?!
Back in Feb., when this virus was first being discovered, I figured by late spring all would have settled down and life would go on as normal...boy was I wrong. Here it is the middle of August, and Miss Tillie has been to zero (0) car shows/fund-raisers due to cancellations.
Our local British Car Club has stepped up and organized several "drive and picnic" events, so this summer has not been a complete loss for driving. Of course social distancing and masks are the order of the day.
Here is our dog "Happy" anxiously awaiting his driver to get this "show on the road"!
Harrison State Park in NW Ohio was an enjoyable Sunday afternoon ride with the Lake Erie British Car Club (LEBCC). Here are some of the cars on the drive. We had a picnic at the park, got to drive through a beautiful covered bridge, and then stopped for ice cream on the way home.
Another fun drive was to Snook's Dream Car Garage, close to Bowling Green, Ohio. Jeff Snook has a wonderful museum of approximately 25 cars plus a shop that performs maintenance / restoration services. Go to http://www.snooksdreamcars.com/ for more information.
Snook's museum / shop was built to resemble a 1940s Texaco gas station...very cool. Lots of automobile memorabilia collected by Jeff's late dad Bill Snook and Jeff. Wife Rhoda really enjoyed seeing the old Avon bottles and peddle cars.

I'm sure lots of you "car folks" are aware of the Monterey Car Week that happens around the middle of August. It usually starts with a kickoff "cruise in" and ends with the famous Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance car show.
Since the kickoff cruise-in happens in California, most of the other 49 state folks are left out...but due to Covid-19 this year, the cruise-in was virtual - thanks to Classic Motorsports Magazine and Ebay Motors.
To be included in this car show you needed to register on the Classic Motorsport forum and then submit a good photo of your car with a "prop" (like my copy of the magazine) to prove it was a recent photo.
There were a number of prizes and categorizes, but alas, Miss Tillie was somehow passed over by the judges! I did get a nice note about her from the editor of the magazine. 😃
It was great fun being part of a "national" car show and seeing so many great cars.
Yeah, I know I promised to put Tillie back on a dyno this year to test the Mikuni conversion, and hopefully that will still happen, but for now...I continue to do quite a lot of polishing and detailing.
