2021 In The Rear View Mirror

Hello everyone. Well, it's December 2021 already, so if I'm going to update my blog this year, I'd better get at it! With the availability of the Covid vaccine here in Ohio, Governor Dewine lifted the lock down rules and many car shows were put back on the calendar.

Miss Tillie's first appearance was at the Lake Erie British Car Club's "The British Return to Fort Meigs" show in Perrysburg, Ohio. Not surprisingly there was a large turnout of British Iron. The cars were sorted by make and model making it easier for judging. (Tillie did bring home some "judging hardware").

Another area car show was held in downtown Fremont, Ohio.  We arrived "on time" only to find all the choice parking sports were already taken. Tillie ended up just off the main drag on a side street, but we still had a lot of folks come by to visit with wife Rhoda and Happy dog and to admire Tillie.

On the way home from Fremont, we passed through a small village called Stony Ridge, Ohio. As luck would have it, the local ice cream shop called "Pee Wee's was open for business! Hey, we're all for supporting small businesses, and Pee Wee's had a nice menu selection of goodies to eat as well as ice cream! ๐Ÿ™‚

Our final car show for 2021 turned out to be fantastic.
The men's group at this church really put on a terrific car show.  The weather was perfect, and all sorts of classic cars, antique tractors, and cool old trucks were on display. Archbold, Ohio is primarily a farming community, and this church reached out with free food and great Christian fellowship. What's not to like!

Tillie had good company at this show...a Shelby Mustang!

It was nice to see another British car at this show...even if it was an MG๐Ÿ˜

Mid-fifties Chevy next to a new C8 Corvette...this show had it all!

And of course, an ice cream stop on the way home was mandatory!

The final club drive for Tillie was beautiful fall Sunday afternoon ride along the historic Maumee River with a stop in Napoleon, Ohio for a bite to eat. All the British cars traveling back roads in a caravan drew lots of attention with folks waving and giving the group thumbs-up. ๐Ÿ‘

Our area's Lake Erie British Car Club normally has an early spring banquet to kick off the driving season, but because of Covid, it got pushed back to the fall of 2021.  Nazareth Hall was built in 1927 as a Catholic boarding school but eventually evolved into a renowned military school for boys until it closed in 1982.  It has since been turned into a wedding / party venue that serves up great food with a wonderful ambience near Grand Rapids, Ohio.  A good time was had by all!

I've been wanting to show off my granddaughter, Ming An. She loves the "little car" and can't wait to get a little bigger and take rides with "Opa" (grandpa).

Well, Tillie's "crew"... Jim, Rhoda and Happy dog, wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Blessing- filled 2022.

Sleep tight Tillie!
